Fall Semester Middle School Physics

Middle School Physics courses included Mechanics, Electricity, Thermal Science, Magnetism, Optics and Wave, all specially designed for middle school students in the 6th-8th grade level who want to have a PROPER early introduction to the study of physics.

Each Semester, 4 of the 6 listed subjects will be provided. Each subject includes 10 1.5-hour lectures scheduled once a week around 8-9:30pm (EST) in one of the weekdays. There is no specific math requirement and order of sequence requirement for the study of these subjects. The fall semester will include the following subjects:

  1. Thermal Science studies state of matters, density, pressure, buoyancy force, absolute temperature, ideal gas law, T-P-V relations, engine, methods of heat transfer, melting, evaporation, and thermal equilibrium.

  2. Magnetism studies magnet, magnetic interaction, magnetic field, moving charge in magnetic field, Faraday's law of induction, Lenz's law, motor, electric generator and electromagnetic wave

  3. Optics studies origin of light, speed of light, reflection, refraction, optical lens, ray optics, light waves, diffraction, superposition, interference, and light scattering.

  4. Wave studies definition of waves, speed of wave, wave transmission, wave interference, sound wave, echo, Doppler effect, sonic boom, standing wave, harmonics, seismic waves, ocean waves, electromagnetic wave, dispersion, reflection, refraction, polarization and scattering.
